Intermec has announced that Star Track Express has selected the Intermec CN3 as its new mobile data capture platform to further enhance customer service and streamline their delivery processes. Star Track Express, the world’s smartest delivery system, is one of Australia’s leading express freight and logistics providers with over 1,500 drivers in the field, handling over 1,000,000 scans per day. Intermec’s rugged GPRS enabled CN3 mobile computers will provide real-time visibility of Star Track Express drivers and their consignments. “We were looking for a supplier that could demonstrate a proven, robust and scalable technology and one who could deliver a future-proof platform able to be enhanced in order to grow with our business. Of equal importance to the project was a supplier that understood our marketplace and the issues facing our business,” continued Robson. Intermec’s CN3 device, coupled with SOTI software, will allow Star Track Express to automate its entire delivery and collection process in real-time by enabling its drivers to scan all items both within and outside the depot, electronically manifest consignments, collect proof of delivery via ‘sign on glass’ and to accept and complete pick up jobs in the field. Blackbay software will allow the transfer of this information from the CN3 device directly to the Star Track Express back office systems, providing instant visibility on drivers and their consignments. Leopard Systems were chosen for their expertise and knowledge in the deployment of such a large scale project. “Star Track Express continues to be innovative in its use of mobile technology with our primary aim to improve service to our customers and increase operational efficiency,” said Mr Robson. < Return to the Exchange front page More topics:
