The Sarina Russo Group needed to connect a newly leased office space (in a remote building) to their company’s high-speed corporate LAN within the Brisbane CBD. Sarina Russo Group did not want to duplicate its telephone and data systems. Instead they wanted to centralise these services at the existing branch office, there-by reducing their ongoing costs. The Sarina Russo Group explored & evaluated many communication options including the use of licensed microwave technology. After careful consideration they decided on the cost effective license free laser option. The laser gave them high speed without the on going ACMA license fees or telecommunications carrier fees. The Optical laser was the ideal solution for the short distance connectivity required for the new office building. The licence free, protocol independent, solution provided Sarina Russo Group Gbps capacity at low costs. This service is a critical link, servicing approximately 60 staff, loss of the link would impact greatly on day-to-day business. Therefore Sarina Russo Group wanted a high level of availability, which the laser provided. On top of this Wave1 provides a “On site maintenance contract” with locally held spares. The narrow and invisible laser beam makes the laser system the most secure means of wireless communications and is interference free (of Radio frequencies) it is versatile and easy to manage. The optical transceiver was positioned on the rooftop. The Sarina Russo Group fully own & control a high speed Wave1 system with GigE Ethernet bandwidth, which supports heavy user traffic including large business-critical data, video, MP3 files, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and other high-bandwidth applications. The license free system installed by Wave1 is a safe, reliable alternative
to traditional last-mile access solutions and leased lines avoiding the need
for costly and time
consuming fiber runs
